Note:Yes, the tropical storm Irene did hit us pretty hard at the end of August. Brattleboro sustained damage that is well on the road to recovery. Most affected businesses are open again. Roads that washed out are repaired or under repair. The shop-keepers, restauranteurs and innkeepers want us to let you know that they are open and happy to have you as their customers. You will be able to get around just fine (you just might need to take a side road now and then). You'll still find a warm welcome once you're here - and Vermont is still a very special place to be.
