Shopping in Brattleboro Ice Skating In and Around Brattleboro

In Brattleboro, the Retreat Meadows on Route 30 is frozen over each year and dotted with fishing shacks (pictured here). There is most often a cleared area right next to the road that makes for some wonderful skating. If you prefer something less “wild”, Grafton Ponds offers skating as well as tubing and snow shoeing. The Living Memorial Park, behind the Creamery Covered Bridge on Route 9 before West Brattleboro, has a rink open to the public. Remember that skating on open water can expose you to thin ice that is very dangerous. Be aware of the conditions of the day!
